Gateway to Leadership was created with the express aim of bringing in fresh talent from outside the NHS, candidates with new ways of thinking and different perspectives. This scheme is not closed to NHS people but they are not the intended target for the scheme as a key focus of the Gateway development programme is to support the transition of participants to the service. As people who already work within the NHS will already have an understanding of the service, where possible we'd strongly encourage NHS staff to find alternative fast track schemes within their own local organisation.
